OMRDD Completes Hearings on Five Year Comprehensive Plan
OMRDD this week completed a series of public hearings on the draft Statewide Comprehensive Plan: 2009-2013. The public hearings were held in Rochester, Schenectady and New York City on August 31st, September 3rd and September 8th, respectively. Several self-advocates, parents, family members, providers, advocates and interested individuals provided testimony at all sites. Tom McAlvanah, President of NYSACRA presented the association’s testimony at the public hearing in New York City.
All testimony, including written comments, will be reviewed by Commissioner Ritter and OMRDD staff. The final Statewide Comprehensive Plan: 2009-2013 will reflect certain ideas, comments and suggestions from stakeholders incorporated into the draft document released earlier from OMRDD.
